It all started on Oxford High Street in 1830, the beginning of a long-established tradition in fine quality textiles, when Mr William Hine opened his gentlemen’s tailors and outfitters business. This soon became one of the leading outfitters in the city of Oxford, supplying discerning customers, both local and visiting tourists, with high quality clothing from their quintessential English shop.

The business continued the outfitting for several generations, serving an international clientele for over a century. They provided gentlemen’s clothing including hand-tailored bespoke and readymade suits, coats and hats.

The company was transferred to the Robertson family in 1950, in whose care it has remained.
